Aimee Teegarden (born October 10, 1989) is an American actress, model, and producer. She played the role of Julie Taylor in the NBC drama Friday Night Lights (2006–2011). In 2014, Teegarden starred as Emery Whitehill in The C.W.’s short-lived science fiction romantic series Star-Crossed. Since 2015 she has starred as Daniella “Dani” Mason in the Freeform drama series Twisted.

Teegarden was born in and grew up in Downey, California, a Los Angeles suburb. She completed high school through independent study at the age of sixteen. Aimee studied dance in her youth, including at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C. She began acting in the fifth grade when she played the Viola in an elementary school production of Twelfth Night.
Aimee Teegarden completed her independent study at the age of sixteen. She then entered the world of modeling. She’s a vegan and past Honored Queen of Bethel No. 244 in Downey, California, a member of Job’s Daughters International.
Teegarden made her professional acting debut in 2005 in the NBC drama Friday Night Lights. The show, based on a hit movie and developed for television by Peter Berg, chronicles the struggles of a high school football team in fictional Dillon, Texas.
She also played Julie Taylor, sister of protagonist Jason Street (played by Scott Porter). Moreover, Her performance was well-received by critics, and she was nominated for a Teen Choice Award in the “T.V. – Breakout” category. Subsequent acting credits include the films The Butterfly Effect 2 (2006) and Fired Up (2009).
On August 24, 2007, during the Miss Teen USA pageant, Teegarden asked, “Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can’t locate the United States on a world map. Why do you think this is?” This question resulted in an infamous response by contestant Caitlin Upton (2007).
In 2008, she was also given the title of “Honorary International Sweetheart of DeMolay International” by a young men’s organization associated with Job’s Daughters International.
That same year, Teegarden also landed the lead female role in Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer’s spoof film Epic Movie, playing Emma Roberts’ character Kaitlyn. She also appeared in an episode of The C.W. series 90210 (Season 1, Episode 18), in which she played a love interest for West Beverly students Brandon and Dixon.
Teegarden’s next major role was in the 2009 horror film The Final Destination, the fourth installment of the Final Destination series, where she plays Wren Melendez, a survivor of three previous fatal premonitions. She also starred in Fired Up! with Nicholas D’Agosto and Eric Christian Olsen as Sharon.
In early 2010, Teegarden was also cast as the protagonist Melody in the animated film Undiscovered, about a rising singer whose dreams are compromised by the realities of being an entertainer. The film is directed by Chris Stenner and co-stars Drake Bell, Christina Milian, Jon Lovitz, Beau Bridges, and Emily Osment. In addition, Teegarden made an appearance in the film Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (2009) as Daphne, one of Brittany’s friends.
Teegarden was also chosen by director Chris Columbus for the role of Jessica in the fourth installment of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules was released in March 2011.
Teegarden stars as Emery Whitehill in the science fiction romance drama series Star-Crossed, which premiered on The C.W. on February 17, 2014. She also starred in the comedy film American Ultra (2015).
In 2016 she was cast as one of the leads in ABC’s drama pilot Doomsday.
Teegarden is a vegan. She’s a past honored queen of Bethel No. 244 in Downey, California, and a Job’s Daughter International member. In 2008, she was given the title “Honorary International Sweetheart of DeMolay International,” which is an adult male organization affiliated with Job’s Daughters.
Teegarden attended the University of California, Los Angeles, for one quarter in 2009, studying film production. She has dated American actor David Henrie since 2010. Teegarden is a Christian. Speaking at the National Conference on Ministry to Youth in 2015, she said that her faith was important during the early stages of her career.
Teegarden’s close friend is actress Alicia Leigh Willis, who played the role of Kim in Friday Night Lights. Willis is the godmother to Teegarden’s younger sister Grace.
In 2013, Teegarden was also a contestant on the short-lived Nickelodeon game show BrainSurge. In 2016, she joined Pencils of Promise, a non-profit that builds schools for children in developing countries. She has traveled to Haiti and Rwanda with the organization.
